It’s a major trial which has been held since Monday June 24, 2024 at the Alençon criminal court.

For four days, the judges look into a vast case of narcoticswhich took root in the district of Perseigne has Alençon (Orne), between October 2022 and October 2023.

Sixteen people, aged 19 to 43, are on trial for their alleged involvement.

Several months of investigation

According to the first elements mentioned at the hearing, significant drug trafficking had developed in a building on rue Anatole-France.

During the investigation, the heroineof cannabisof the cocaineof crack and of l’ecstasy were seized. But also armes and of fake tickets.

It all started with an anti-drug operation, carried out on October 4, 2022 at 31 rue Anatole-France, which led to searches and arrests.

Of the fake tickets and handwritten documents ofinventory mentioning several kilograms of drugs were found in a cellar of the building. The owner’s apartment was then searched. Nearly 100 grams of narcotics were found there. Three residents had been placed in jail.

The investigation continued for several months and allowed to identify other people which would be directly or indirectly linked to this trafficking.

No deliberation

The first two days of the hearing are dedicated to investigating the facts and the personalities of the defendants, almost all of whom are present (only one missing). Wednesday must begin with the requisitions of the prosecutor, Laëtitia Mirande, before giving way to the lawyers’ pleadings. The deliberation is expected for Thursday June 27.

Éric Martin, the president of the hearing, has already warned that there would be no under advisement and that “decisions would be rendered immediately”.
