Georges Mikautadze to RC Lens? What was only a sweet dream until recently for Lens supporters could well come true. Of course, nothing says that the Blood and Gold will win the bet.
However, President Joseph Oughourlian, who seems convinced by the Georgian striker from FC Metz, is clearly willing to make a big financial effort to convince the Lyon native.
While La Voix des Sports claims that RC Lens is in pole position on the Mikautadze case, insider Mohamed Toubache-Ter goes even further. According to the latter, the Artois club would have aligned itself with the salary proposal of AS Monaco which would be around €250,000 per month.
We are still far from the speech at the beginning of June which stated a desire to significantly reduce the wage bill which has exploded this season. A departure of Elye Wahi? Clearly the Mikautadze file would not be dependent on a departure of the young French striker.
Other departures should however allow RC Lens to reduce the sails on the salary level. We are thinking in particular of Brice Samba, Kevin Danso, Angelo Fulgini and Adrien Thomasson.
In any case, one thing is certain: we are far from the ambient pessimism of the beginning of June.
