On October 21, Jeanne, resident of a nursing home in Creuse, released a balloon as part of Pink October. Two weeks later, she received a response from abroad, HuffPost reported.
The beautiful story of the day comes from Creuse, and more precisely from Saint-Jean d'Aubusson. As reported by HuffPost, on October 21, Jeanne, 95, resident in a nursing home, released a balloon as part of Pink October.
Attached to this balloon, a message: “If you find this card, we would be happy to hear from you”with the address of the residence, signed by Jeanne. And two weeks later, the Saint-Jean nursing home received a return letter, which it published on its Facebook page. The latter was found in a “cattle grazing in the town of Neumünster in the middle of the state (Länd) of Schleswig-Holstein in northern Germany”.
A new balloon release next year
At France Bleu Creuse, Évelyne Pinlon, a health executive at the establishment, explained: “He is a person who writes very well in French, without spelling mistakes, perfect”. And the nursing home added: “We are very happy! Especially since we didn’t expect the ball to go so far”.
However, Jeanne is the only resident of the establishment to have had a return from sending her balloon. The establishment planned to send this German correspondent a postcard from Aubusson to thank him. For the 2025 edition of Pink October, the staff is already planning to organize a new balloon release.
