Benjamin Dirx and his deputy Anne Brochette, candidates of the presidential majority, held a public meeting Wednesday evening in Mâcon in front of more than a hundred people including an audience of elected officials

The day after the announcement of the dissolution of the National Assembly, Benjamin Dirx announced his candidacy for re-election for the deputy.

The mayor of Mâcon and president of the agglomeration Jean-Patrick Courtois took the opportunity to lend his full support to the candidate of the presidential majority.

“In Mâcon, I am LR and I invite all my LR friends, I call on all those wearing the LR label to vote for Benjamin in the first round. We can’t afford to take a risk! Between the two extremes for the Mâconnais and for France, it is Benjamin. Voting for Benjamin means bringing satisfaction to our town! »

An announcement which was very applauded.

Benjamin Dirx returned to the political situation in the country since 2022 to explain how we got there according to him and to show that work on the ground is essential.

“Today, there is a double challenge. There is a national issue and what will happen tomorrow in the National Assembly,” he indicated. “Most certainly, there will not be an absolute majority and therefore we will need moderate deputies capable of working with others to be able to move forward, to not have a blocked country. For me, this is done outside the extremes, but there are majorities who seek this way. By working differently, by highlighting the needs of citizens, the needs of the territories. And to raise the needs of a territory, we need a deputy here who knows his constituency. This is what I have been doing for 7 years in the 105 municipalities with major projects that must succeed. There has been funding but if we are not there, if we cannot follow it, these projects risk not happening. »

The projects concern the judicial city, the expansion of the Mâcon police station and its renovation, the new Pierreclos gendarmerie, the renovations of the Cluny and St-Gengoux-le-National gendarmeries, and the rural revitalization zones.

And to continue: “These rural revitalization zones are a system that the Clunisois and Saint Cyr Mère Boîtier could lose. I saved this device a few weeks ago, the First minister listened to me. You should know that our municipalities were kept in this system even though it had been said since 2015 that they had to leave it. As, there were modifications, they should no longer be there, because I know the needs that there are in our territory, I managed to convince the Prime minister. Now, if I’m not there tomorrow, we have to start all over again and the risk is not to succeed because we really have to know these files. »

After listing the urgent issues, Benjamin Dirx announced the holding of periodic meetings in the territories and concluded his speech on the question of purchasing power.

“We need to see how we can allow the French to have more purchasing power. We have done a lot for purchasing power by removing the housing tax, lowering contributions for households, removing the audiovisual license fee (€22 billion less for households), but with inflation, we can clearly see that it’s getting harder and harder to get to the end of the month. I think there are measures that are essential, such as properly regulating energy prices, for me this is the most urgent measure. There will also be measures to take on small pensions. Creating wealth to better share it is what I will continue to do. »

An exchange with the public closed the evening.
