This is perhaps one of the most important constituencies undecided Yvelines. Who of the outgoing MP Bruno Milliennecandidate of the presidential majority, of the socialist Dieynaba Diop (New Popular Front) or Laurent Morincandidate of the National Rally (RN), will win in the 9e constituency of the department during the legislative elections? Difficult to make a prediction a few days before the first round.

And Bruno Millienne remains on two victories (in 2017 against Jean-Marie Tétart then in 2022 against Laurent Morin), the pass of three is not assured. Especially since the outgoing deputy did not have the time as in 2022 to carry out his Circo’ Tour, a grand tour of the constituency, city by city, just before the election.

“Every election has its share of uncertainty. We must go into battle, there is no choice. We must see if the progression of the National Rally is the result of a protest vote. If it’s a vote of adhesion, I could say anything, I’m dead. »

The growing threat from Laurent Morin and the RN

In June 2022, the former municipal councilor of Jumeauville had modest success, aware of the strong progression of the RN (42.15% of the votes cast for Laurent Morin in the second round). If the poster were to be similar for the second round on July 7, how can we imagine that the score of the RN regional advisor will not continue to increase?

Especially in the current context. In the European elections, the RN garnered 7.7 million votes across the country, or 2.5 million more than in 2019. Whether in Bonnières-sur-Seine, Aubergenville, Mézières-sur-Seine, Maule or even Houdan, the RN by Jordan Bardella was well in the lead on the evening of June 9.

“I see things in a humble way. There is already a first round to go through and we will try to have the highest score possible. I’m not going to get into predictions. I just note that Emmanuel Macron’s candidate for the European elections achieved a very low score throughout the constituency. »

Finally Dieynaba Diop’s turn?

On the left, it is Dieynaba Diopspokesperson for the Socialist Party, who was selected to represent the New Popular Front. Regional councilor since 2021 and deputy mayor of Les Mureaux since 2008, she was frustrated in 2022 not to have been invested by Nupes, the latter preferring the inexperienced Victor Pailhac, just 20 years old at the time. He was the only Nupes candidate not to qualify for the second round in Yvelines.

The second tour, Dieynaba Diop can legitimately claim it and even dream of better. If in all likelihood it should crush the competition in Mureaux, the largest town in the constituency, this may not be enough. For 43 747 voters in the constituency in the first round of the legislative elections in June 2022, only 5,070 were residents of Les Mureaux.

However, she wants to believe in her chances.

“When we arrive at a left-wing alliance that goes from Poutou to Hollande, it clearly shows that the left is putting aside its differences to prevent the extreme right from coming to power. »

Five outsiders on the starting line

Behind the three “favorites”, they will be five others to try their luck. Like two years ago, Christophe Le Hot (Reconquest!), Philippe Gommard (Workers’ struggle) and Rachid Zerouali (various right) will be present on the starting line.

Added to them are two Muriautins: Sendil-Sebastien Djeramanechartered accountant in the commune, on Hervé Riou’s list during the last municipal elections.
This same Hervé Riouwho will defend the colors of the New Energy for France party (created by the mayor of Cannes David Lisnard), is also a candidate.

Territory: cantons of Aubergenville (12 municipalities) and Bonnières-sur-Seine + municipalities of Ecquevilly, Epône, La Falaise, Les Mureaux and Mézières-sur-Seine. Outgoing MP: Bruno Millienne (MoDem) (in office since 2017 ). The results of the legislative elections in 2022> 1st round (candidates with more than 5%)Bruno Millienne (Ensemble/MoDem): 26.34%; Laurent Morin (RN): 22.45%; Victor Pailhac (Nupes): 24.25%; Pauline Winocour-Lefèvre (LR): 10.22%; Christophe Le Hot (Reconquest!): 5.44%. > Abstention: 52.94%. > 2nd roundBruno Millienne (re-elected): 57.85%; Laurent Morin: 42.15%. > Abstention: 55.89%.
