Last Friday. The service had barely finished, the pizza maker on rue de la République Frédéric Bex had not put his apron away. And for good reason, around ten young people from the Ulis system (Localized Units for Educational Inclusion) of the Emilie de Rodat ensemble came to pay him a friendly visit for a pizza-making workshop. This system allows the education of students with disabilities in ordinary schools, and offers an adapted educational organization while allowing the implementation of personalized education projects. This year, young people, aged 7 to 10, worked on a project around cooking. After a taste break at the St Jo training restaurant during the school year, and after making cakes for their friends on the eve of each school holiday period, the young people organized that evening on the François Marty site an aperitif bringing together parents, young people but also former students of the Ulis system. They made pizza plates, more than 150 slices, with the help of the pizza maker who was able to give them some valuable advice so that the result was as expected: “It is important to put meaning into our actions, and to propose projects in which young people are valued. ” confides teacher Alexis Bonnefis, who is also coordinator of the Ulis system. During the morning, the young people also got their hands dirty by preparing cakes for the many guests expected the same evening. Remember that last year, the students of the system had put on their director’s costume to offer a short film highlighting their various talents. A production which had been previewed at the Vox cinema, and which had met with the expected success.
