Pierre-Yves Jourdain, a 46-year-old from Vernon, father of a daughter, works in the cinema industry, in international co-production.
He is also already an opposition municipal councilor in Vernon (Your) and community advisor to the opposition in Seine Normandie Agglomération since 2023.
Already a candidate for Nupes in 2022 on the fifth districtPierre-Yves Jourdain immediately made himself available to his party the day after the announcement of the dissolution of the National Assembly.

He was renewed by the new Popular Front. Pierre-Yves Jourdain continues to be part of a process ofunion of the left : “Our family is stronger united than scattered. »
He represents “the only alternative” to the macronie of Frédéric Duché and the far right of the outgoing deputy Timothée Houssin, who “is tough on the weak” and “does not plan anything on pension or unemployment reform”.
Three campaign axes
The Popular Front candidate identified three important axes : “reparation in the face of social and ecological damage”, the need to “strengthen public services” (health and national education in particular) and the defense of the rights of men and women.
Among the key measures, we find:increase in the minimum wage to €1,600 ; return to unemployment and retirement reforms; discuss the freedom of establishment of doctors which would ask doctors leaving their studies to settle in medical deserts; defend the 1905 law on secularism “within its original scope”.
Pierre-Yves Jourdain also wishes to defend the cause of women and the LGBTQI + community, by “giving more resources to associations”, by further improving the handling of complaints and by opening emergency accommodation places.
