A 38-year-old woman was found dead on Sunday evening in a home in the Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie district of Montreal.

Shortly before 5:30 p.m., a call was made to 911, indicated Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the Police Department of the City of Montreal (SPVM). The call came from a home located on Avenue Bourbonnière, near Avenue Laurier.

When the police arrived on the scene, they found an unresponsive woman on the ground who had signs of violence on her body. His death was pronounced at the scene and is considered suspicious. The identity of the victim has not yet been confirmed.

When the police arrived, a man was in the home. He is considered an important witness. He was transported to an investigation center.

Investigators are analyzing the scene. The man remains to be met in order to determine his involvement, or not, in the case.said Anthony Dorelas, spokesperson for the SPVM.

The scene was protected for investigators. Residents still did not have access to their alley around 7 a.m. Monday. Furthermore, the neighbors met by Radio-Canada on Monday morning said they were greatly shaken.

Forensic identification technicians will arrive in the coming hours to analyze the scene and understand the exact circumstances of the event.
