The start of summer rhymes with summer pedestrian closures and, at the same time, a new edition of PlazaPalooza. From July 4 to 7, Plaza Saint-Hubert will host this small festival which is popular for its sidewalk sale, but which is worth the detour for several other reasons. Here are five that should make you want to take a trip to the Plaza with your friends.

Participate in magic and skate workshops

Learning and entertainment will be there during the festival, which will receive visits from several animation workshops. The Taz Caravan will be on site to give skateboarding workshops to children and traveling performances in the afternoon. Ginka and Waykaru will come and give magic workshops at different times to amaze young and old. In addition, MAPP MTL will roam around with its solar-powered station which will collect drawings and animations from the public during the day, and finally project them onto neighborhood buildings in the evening.

Dance to the electronic beats of the on-site DJs

The PlazaPalooza will be a wonderful opportunity to shake your hips to the sound of the DJ sets which will be presented from Thursday to Sunday. On Thursday, n10.as will open the ball on the small stage, and Arielle Roberge on the largest. The next day, it will be Arsy and Nino who will present the Good Family Showcase on the small stage while Gene Tellem and Gab Rei will make the audience dance on the big one. Finally, Laflame, FabJustFab, Lu B, Nana Zen and a few others will be the last DJs to perform at the festival, for a big four days of non-stop music.

Attend free performances by Milk & Bone, Totalement Sublime and Naomi

After finding some pretty items from the sidewalk sale, you will be able to see artists perform for free every evening at the PlazaPalooza. Totally Sublime will inaugurate the main stage with a concert on Thursday evening. The next day, pop star Naomi will take over with her R&B and rhythmic performances. The Milk & Bone collective will be performing on Saturday with their captivating electro-pop before finally handing over the stage to several artists on Sunday, including singer Olivia Khoury.

Have a drink at one of the Plaza bars

There is no shortage of special places to have a drink at Plaza Saint-Hubert. Obviously, mocktails and cocktails are often a great way to end a day of festivities. Le Système, Ausgang Plaza, Bar Nestor and Chez Ernest will be among the establishments that will welcome you after or before (for the most motivated) the programming activities. These restaurants and bars will even have their own special programming for PlazaPalooza.

Relax in green spaces or play giant board games

The Games Guys will be present during the entire event so that people there can try giant board games accessible to the whole family. Those who want to stretch out on the grass or simply relax in the atmosphere of PlazaPalooza will have the green spaces to do so. Several surprise activities will also appear during the three days of the festival.

Now that you are convinced to go have fun on Plaza Saint-Hubert for its pedestrian closure, visit the PlazaPalooza web page for all the information and organize your trip to the heart of Petite-Patrie from July 4 to 7.
