“We are very, very happy. This 15e edition was a great success.” When it comes time to take stock, Sunday morning, Stéphane Wicht, president of the Red Pigs Festival which took place from Thursday to Saturday in Payerne, has the satisfaction of a job accomplished. “The whole committee feels tired but has a smile,” he assures.

The three evenings – two of which were paid – attracted around 3,800 people. “I don’t know if it’s a record, but it’s certainly one of the highest attendances,” said the president. Thursday evening, with Jean-Baptiste Guegan and the Broyards of Connemara in particular, was sold out with 1,500 spectators. The next day, Pegasus and Superbus made some 1,300 festival-goers dance and sing. “Mirco, who was the discovery that evening, also demonstrated that he has a lot of talent,” underlines Stéphane Wicht.

The free Saturday evening, with The Postman’s Sons and Babylon Circus, attracted around 1,000 people. “The headliners played their role as headliners. There were great moments of emotion when Jean-Baptiste Guegan covered Johnny’s songs. And the local groups also did well,” rejoices Stéphane Wicht, adding that no incident has been reported. He is already announcing the holding of a 16e edition, which will take place on June 19, 20 and 21, 2025.
