Disappearance. The tragic epilogue of the Mattéo Michel affair, lost in the Pyrenees?

The disappearance of Mattéo Michel, this 20-year-old young man from Viennay in Deux-Sèvres who has not given any sign of life since August 2023, when he had started a hike in the Rioumajou sector in Hautes- Pyrenees, did it find its tragic epilogue this Monday, June 24?

Still, the New Republic of the Pyrenees reports that a hiker went to the Vignec gendarmerie brigade (Haute-Pyrénées) on June 24 after discovering bones and shorts in the mountains, not far from Rioumajou, where the young Deux-Sévrien disappeared . New searches were to be carried out this Tuesday by the gendarmerie.

For the moment, there is nothing to make a link between the bones found and the missing young man. They were entrusted to the IRCGN (Criminal Research Institute of the National Gendarmerie) for analyses.

On June 8, several members of Niort 1925, the Chamois Niortais supporters group, hung a plaque in tribute to the man who was part of their group. On this occasion Jérôme Radoux, the new president of Niort 1925 was notably accompanied by Jean-Pierre Buretta, his predecessor and Sonia Tisserand, Mattéo’s mother.
