Météo France services have placed the Haute-Corse department on yellow alert – weather situation to monitor for the “wind” parameter from Tuesday November 19 at 8 p.m. to Wednesday November 20 at 6 p.m., at least.
Tuesday evening, the libecciu will strengthen across the entire department with strong gusts. 120 to 140 km/h in gusts are expected in Balagne and more than 150 km/h in Cap Corse. The Bastia region should initially be spared, the wind will blow up to 90 km/h. The terrain is also affected by strong gusts across the entire central range with local peaks of 120 to 150 km/h.
The strong wind episode continues on Wednesday with a further strengthening of the wind generally during the day. The strong gusts should this time affect the Bastia region and the south-east of the island. A worsening of vigilance could also be considered on Wednesday.
The Haute-Corse prefecture calls on the population to be extremely vigilant and reiterates the precautionary instructions:
– Limit your movements and take shelter,

– Stop all outdoor activities,
– Do not go to sea, do not get into the water and stop all activity
nautical,
– In town, be vigilant of possible falling various objects,
– On the road, limit your speed (especially caravans and
