Aurélie Piacenza was nominated by the presidential majority for the legislative elections in Yvelines. The candidate finally announced her withdrawal due to the “risk of having an RN/LFI duel” in her constituency.

In the 11th constituency of Yvelines, Aurélie Piacenza announced the withdrawal of her candidacy for the legislative elections, this Saturday, June 15, on X.

“After careful consideration”, the candidate, invested by Renaissance, wishes to leave the way to the candidacy of the right and the center for fear of an RN/LFI duel. “The risk is very high,” she believes, recalling that the two parties came first in the European elections.

“Maintaining my candidacy in this context could only contribute to this,” she continues. “I regret not being able to offer this possibility to all those who support me, but the interest in our country and our cohesion must prevail.”

No LR-RN alliance in the circle

In the constituency, the outgoing deputy William Martinet is running under the banner of the New Popular Front. In 2022, he was elected against Aurélie Piacenza with 50.18% of the votes.

Unlike the 7th constituency of Yvelines, in which the leader Babette de Rozières is running under the LR-RN banner, Laurent Mazaury was invested by the Union of the Right and the Center, without an alliance with the extreme right and the National gathering.
