Christelle d’Intorni, outgoing MP, is the candidate nominated by the Republicans and supported by the National Rally for these early legislative elections in the 5th constituency. It includes Nice-West and the valleys.

“Let’s punish drug users”

Political guest of Nice-Presse and RCF Radio this Monday, June 24, Christelle d’Intorni recalled her previous proposals for security laws, to contribute to the program of the LR-RN coalition. This is how it intends to punish drug users – seize the cars of repeat offenders, suspend students’ scholarships, etc. – and make inmates work, “to deter offenders”.

On the subject of the Franco-Italian border, sometimes referred to as “strainer” near Menton, Christelle d’Intorni indicated that it was necessary “make our system less attractive to migrants” and “all requests for asylum must be made from abroad”.

Things are less clear when it comes to retirement. The outgoing MP acts “differences” between the Republicans of Eric Ciotti and the National Rally of Jordan Bardella, as a result of which she did not wish “announce a specific retirement age”nor say whether the government reform should concretely be repealed, or simply adjusted.

“It will necessarily be necessary to impose rigor and make significant savings, particularly in terms of migration”

Note that the elected official did not find a theme other than security and immigration on which the LR and the RN would be in agreement.

The Popular Front, “real danger for the country”

While the RN has multiplied costly proposals in recent years – the idea of an end to income tax for those under 30, a reduction in VAT on basic necessities, a reduction in taxes on fuel, etc. – Christelle d’Intorni stressed that it is a policy of rigor which must be carried out in the first place, “since the current government will leave us with public accounts in a disastrous state, as evidenced by the recent downgrading of France by the rating agencies.”

On a more local level, the LR councilor estimated that it is the candidate of the New Popular Front, Fabrice Decoupigny (EELV), who represents the main electoral risk in his fifth constituency.

“The real threat is the extreme left. The danger for our country is there. They are political thugs, we saw it with the deputies of France Insoumise.”

No reviews for Jacques Myard

It is not only on the left that investitures are controversial. Eric Ciotti’s Republicans thus offered a constituency to Jacques Myard, a former UMP who had taken unclear positions on the subject of the Syrian regime of Bashar El-Assad, and the annexation of Crimea by Vladimir Putin – yet condemned by a large majority of UN member states.

The former MP also drew a parallel between homosexuals – “touched by a perversion” – and zoophiles, and compared the Pacs with “la legalisation du Sida”. Isn’t Christelle d’Intorni uncomfortable with such an investiture? The lawyer kicks in: “I have little understanding of his political career, so I don’t take a position. It’s up to the voters to decide.”
