It's a project that she has been maturing “for a while already”, after six years spent working as a nursing assistant in a specialized reception center (MAS). During which Claire Brunet was able to see how structures specialized in welcoming people with disabilities were missing.

Based on this observation, the native of Aunay-sur-Odon (Les Monts d'Aunay), who today lives in Landes-sur-Ajon, in , prepared for a long time to launch her own business. “The idea was definitely materialized this summer. I'm very happy to do it, it's nerve-wracking but satisfying. »

Because since October 1, 2024, it has been done, with “ Like everyone else », and individual and personalized support service aimed at people with disabilities, and in particular brain damaged (patients suffering brain damage after serious head trauma, such as after an accident or stroke for example).

“Allow the person to flourish”

“Like everyone else” was really born from the obvious observation of the lack of suitable structure. This is even more true for brain-injured patients, who only have one per department in Lower ; it's far too little. The aim of the service is to allow the person I support to be able to flourish by sharing activities, outings, stays, workshops… There are no real limits on the possibilities. I can suggest ideas, but it's the person who chooses.

To use the service, the procedure is simple: after an initial contact initiated by the interested person, Claire moves to her encounter (within a radius of 20-25 km around Landes-sur-Ajon), then a exchange allows you to determine the type of support desired, the activities, the frequency of meetings, etc.

“It can be weekly, monthly… For this as for the rest, the person tells me what they want, and I adapt. »

Also to help caregivers

If this project is so close to the heart of the Landaise, it is of course because of its experience with people with disabilities at the MAS, which allowed it to identify the difficulties that they have to face on a daily basis.

More and more people with disabilities want to stay at home, and their loved ones are also worried about seeing them leave. The idea of this service is also to allow these caregivers (i.e. people coming to the aid of a sick, suffering, or losing loved one, editor's note) to relieve themselves a little. of their daily life by occasionally entrusting their loved one to a professional.

Projects for the future

Claire Brunet is not her first professional project. At 38, the mother of three young children had reconverted to become a caregiver, after first working with a mutual insurance company as a health manager. Now fully engaged with “Comme tout le monde”, the ideas not lacking for the future.

Starting with the passage of a VAE (validation of acquired experience) to become instructor-educator. Or even the establishment ofephemeral collective workshopsover small series of sessions.

“It would be in collaboration with Elsavectoi, who offers the same type of service as me, but in another sector. Together, we are complementary. » This novelty would be expected “rather for spring 2025”.
