In 2022, the Choir of Hope from Potigny () had in its ranks 22 choristers of both sexes.

Following a change in the operation of the Chorège de Falaise singing workshop, the male and female choristers of this entity “joined us”, summarizes Philippe Brosseau, the president of the Esperance association.

There is a certain enthusiasm for the practice of choral singing. A beautiful atmosphere reigns during rehearsals. Our growing reputation has sparked new vocations. We are close to 50 members.

Women in the spotlight

In 2025, the choir led by Petra Desvois will honor women through hits sung by the greatest.

“We are rehearsing a one and a half hour program, which we will give during the first semester.”

“Since the start of the school year in September, the choir has been mobilized on this major project.” The president puts forward a first list which highlights the following successes: Lily by Pierre Perret, Cécile by Claude Nougaro, Céline by Hugues Aufray, Laurette by Michel Delpech, Lena by Bobby Lapointe and a panel of the greatest hits by Édith Piaf .

The Choir of Hope will not give a concert before the end of the year to be ready on time. She will meet her audience next spring.

Practical. To join the Esperance choir, rehearsal on Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Grands Bureaux de la Mine cultural center.
