The death of a 54-year-old man in Aubagne is at the center of many questions. His body was examined by a doctor who concluded it was suicide. However, a 33-centimeter knife was found in the deceased's thorax. It was a funeral home employee who made this surprising discovery.
“During the mortuary toilet, the funeral home employee who was preparing the body saw his needle hit an obstacle. A 33 centimeter knife was lodged in the thorax, buried up to the handle, invisible from the outside, and whose blade was placed at the height of the heart“, explained the Alès prosecutor, Abdelkrimi Grini, this Saturday, November 30.
An investigation into the death of this fifty-year-old has been opened. An autopsy of the body will take place on Monday, December 2, in Nîmes. The 54-year-old man was found lifeless last Monday in the grounds of a clinic in Bouches-du-Rhône. He had several wounds on the chest and another on the carotid artery.
“A box cutter was discovered at his side, as well as letters written in which he indicated that he would end his life.. No trace of a struggle was also detected. The doctor noted the suicide, since a priori, everything converged towards this thesis”, also indicated the prosecutor. The body of the victim was then transferred to the Gard department, at the request of the family.
“Without this care, the knife would probably never have been spotted. In 28 years of experience, I have never seen such a situation“, said Abdelkrimi Grini.
