The man of justice has just confirmed his candidacy in the first constituency of the territory.

“Hello my friends, I have decided to run for the legislative elections in June 2024. I cannot accept that France is led by Mr. Melenchon and Mr. Macron is out of the race. I was nominated by the Republicans and the National Rally to be a candidate and, I hope, to become your deputy.”

It is with these words that Olivier Taoumi, 64 years old, confided in his circle of relatives to announce his candidacy for the elections of June 29 and July 6.

The legal expert will go into battle under the colors of the Republicans and the National Rally to find himself facing Boris Chong-Sit, Yvane Goua and the outgoing Jean-Victor Castor.

The one who was special advisor to Gabriel Serville at the Territorial Community or even Director General of Services at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry alongside Carine Sinaï, knows the social and economic realities of the territory well. He also has a political past in France.

As a reminder, the first constituency brings together the following municipalities: Cayenne, Matoury, Rémire-Montjoly Macouria, Roura, Montsinery-Tonnegrande, Régina, Saint-Georges, Camopi as well as Ouanary.
