Member of the Social Affairs Committee in the Senate, Senator Anne-Marie Nédélec visits hospital establishments in Haut-Marne including that of Langres this Friday, June 14. The restructuring of hospitals in the South and Center was invited to this visit.

The senator from Haute-Marne, member of the Social Affairs Committee in the Senate, wants to be as close as possible to the field, to her territory. She therefore began a whole series of visits to the department. The one on health mobilizes her more. She was welcomed by the new site director, Didier Richard. “I don’t know enough about how hospital centers work. I come to realize how the structures work,” she explained to Dr. Vincent Escudier. The latter, head of the Emergency department, and member of Egalité Santé, questioned him about the ongoing restructuring of the Center and South Haute-Marne hospitals. An interpellation expected by the senator who did not wish to engage in the discussion further, even if “I am not saying that I do not want to talk about it”, she underlined. Dr. Karina Poinsot raised transportation issues for transferring a patient from one facility to another that can “take several hours.” She also reported problems within the surgery department managed by the Compassion clinic of the Elsan group. The senator indicated that this will be the subject of a future visit. Anne-Marie Nédélec was concerned about the treatment time for patients who arrive in the Emergency Department. A period which is quite short on average according to Dr Escudier. But the latter stressed that his service is “experimenting with the capacity that will be ours after the restructuring and it is dysfunctional”.
