A decision which relieves the victim’s children, Alexandre and Noémie Taillon, who hope that the driver will have “long years behind bars”.

Alexandre Taillon also finds “disgusting” the fact that the driver left the scene after the tragic event.

“She tried to hide the evidence and for me, it’s a gesture that is truly inhumane, it’s things that don’t happen in society, and we really hope that justice will be done,” the son said in an interview. at TVA Nouvelles.

A feeling shared by his sister.

“For me, it is unacceptable to do this and it does not enter my head that someone could try to hide after killing my father, who is not only a father, but a colleague, a friend, a pilot. It’s unacceptable, it’s disgusting,” says Noémie Taillon.

The paths of Alexandra Gagné-Faucher and Stéphane Taillon crossed on Highway 15 North on September 15, 2022.

According to a witness heard during the trial, the two motorists cut each other off, then stopped their vehicle on the shoulder.

Mr. Taillon allegedly got out of his vehicle, and Alexandra Gagné-Faucher accelerated before hitting the victim in the legs.

The latter would have been thrown into the air, over the young woman’s car which would not have stopped.

The 53-year-old father died within hours of the collision.
