Construction of primary school in Farnham begins

The new construction, representing an investment of $27.3 million, will see the light of day at Domaine du Sentier. A total of 370 students can be accommodated. Two classes per level, from preschool to 6th grade, are planned. Patrick Melchior, mayor of Farnham, welcomes the arrival of this new school which will “keep our students in our town”.

“It is with enthusiasm that we are launching work on this fifth new primary school in two years in our territory. As usual, we will see to it that all stakeholders are consulted so that the school can be operational at the start of the 2025 school year,” indicated Carl Morissette, general director of the Val school service center (CSS). -deer.

Just like the last four primary schools built in the Val-des-Cerfs area, that of Farham will be “new generation”, meaning more spacious, bright and colorful than the old establishments.

“It is difficult to ask for better than the arrival of a new school designed specifically to meet the needs of the children here. Thanks to this wonderful project, the children of Farnham and the surrounding area will benefit from a modern place of teaching and socialization, promoting both their educational success and their personal development,” added Ms. Charest.

Like the other new schools in the area, the interior will have collaborative premises, a learning hub and a gymnasium adapted to current standards. (Val-des-Cerfs school service center)
