Sahara: Saint Lucia reiterates its support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom

At the end of a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saint Lucia, Alva Romanus Baptiste, on a working visit to Morocco, and his counterpart Nasser Bourita in Rabat, the position of the island state of the Antilles was reaffirmed.

«Saint Lucia welcomes the dynamic and growing international consensus, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in favor of the autonomy plan and the sovereignty of Morocco over its Sahara», declared the minister. Saint Lucia thus reiterates:its full support for the Moroccan autonomy plan, the only credible, serious and realistic solution“, underlined this senior official.

The two ministers also expressed their desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation in all areas. In this regard, the two parties signed, on the occasion of this visit, a cooperation roadmap for the period 2025-2027, making it possible to structure, in an operational and concrete manner, the axes and activities of cooperation in the areas academic and professional training, technical cooperation, agriculture and food security and climate change.

Nasser Bourita and Romanus Baptiste also highlighted the investment opportunities offered by the two countries and reaffirmed their determination to develop a dynamic economic partnership, based on trade and investments.

The visit to Morocco by the Minister of External Affairs, International Trade, Civil Aviation and the Diaspora of Saint Lucia is part of the dynamic of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, thanks to the vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
