An accordion sounds. Under bright sunshine, music is heard for this day of celebration at the CGT, simply called “RetraiteEnFête”. But between two games of pétanque, the last elections come back into the discussions. “It’s not pretty, we’re in the seas” testify some of the retirees present, worried to see the National Gathering pass. “They don’t have the same view as us, we’re talking about public services, but they want to break it,” says one of them.

Comments reinforced by Jacques Buffier, member of the retired CGT office. “The solution they are proposing for public hospitals is the elimination of 10% of staff in hospitals. They are liberals. It’s the extreme right, but it’s the right'” completes the one which obviously associates itself with the events planned this weekend such as the demonstration in Limoges this Saturday. “It is clearly a barrier to the National Rally” explains Jacques Buffier, “and this allows us to raise awareness as much as possible of the interest in voting on June 30 massively for the candidates who will represent the employees.”

Demonstration this Friday in Tulle, this Saturday in Brive and Limoges

In Haute-Vienne as in Corrèze, trade union organizations have gathered to plan large demonstrations against the far right. So, from this Friday at 5 p.m. at Place Gambetta in Tulle, a gathering is planned. “Let’s come together, let’s mobilize, let’s impose ecological, humanist and social progress alternatives in the debate, let’s impose social and environmental justice, let’s refuse fascist regression, withdrawal into identity, xenophobia” indicates the leaflet published by the inter-union association.

Note that FO is absent from these meetings. Saturday June 15, rallies are planned for 11:00 a.m. in Brive in front of the sub-prefecture and at 11:00 a.m. in Tulle at the Champs des Martyrs. At 2 p.m., in Haute-Vienne, a demonstration is planned at Carrefour Tourny in Limoges.
