An expedition along the Seudre, emblematic river of the Charente-Maritime department was launched this Thursday, June 13, 2024 by theNGO Bleu pourant which fights for the preservation of waterways throughout France.

Due to climate change, the river could lose up to 50% of its flow in the summer period according to several scientific studies.

The association therefore wishes go up the river between June 13 and October 19 by organizing awareness-raising events and workshops in several towns crossed by the river in order to warn of the dangers linked to drought.

Seven bivouacs organized by the association

In total, the NGO Bleu versant proposes to carry out seven bivouacs along the Seudre.

  • Marennes (from June 13 to 15)
  • La Tremblade (June 27 to 29)
  • Mornac-sur-Seudre (August 31, 2024)
  • Saujon (from September 12 to 14)
  • Grézac (from September 25 to 28)
  • Gémozac (from October 3 to 5)
  • Saint-Genis-de-Saintonge (from October 17 to 19)
