Floods: several roads closed in the region, traffic slows

While the region is placed on red alert, several flooded roads in Île-de- have impacted traffic since Thursday. This Friday, October 18, 2024 in the morning, Sytadin reported nearly 300km of traffic jams. Here are the closed lanes.

The Kirk’s passage and the related severe weather will also have affected the Île-de-France region. After being placed in vigilance orange last week with a flood alert in Seine-et-the Paris region found itself on red alert from this Thursday October 17 due to flooding. Several roads have been closed since yesterday, and traffic will have been significantly impacted. Yesterday, Sytadin reported more than 450km of traffic jams. This Friday morning around 8:30 a.m., the barometer of the service of Île-de-France Roads Department (DiRIF) indicated a cumulative total of around 300km of traffic jams.

A Cévennes episode causes intense rains this Thursday October 17 and Friday October 18, leading to a rapid rise in rivers in several regions. If six departments, including Lozère and Alpes-Maritimes, are on red alert, Île-de-France remains on orange alert for the risk of rain and flooding, with the exception of Seine-et-Marne which is in yellow.
