If the last municipal council des Monts d’Aunay, in , which was held on Monday October 14, 2024, dwelled only a little on the few points on the agenda, but on the other hand dealt at length with the questions discussed at the end of the meeting.

And one of those questions was on the subject of the Post Office agency has Aunay-sur-Odonwhose ATM had suddenly been removed at the beginning of the month.

A choice justified by the management of La Poste by the excessive cost that repairs would have required, and by the fact that this ATM “was not used enough and no longer complies with standards”. But the customers, not warned, had been numerous to show up outraged by this decision.

The closure of La Poste, a question of time?

Not to mention that the removal of the ATM is now to fear also the upcoming closure of the Post Office itself.

To this, Mayor Christine Salmon responded that every year she meets with a representative of the group at the end of the year and that “until then, including last year, he has not not announced an imminent change. But he still talks about it every time, saying that it’s going to happen eventually ».

To be continued.
