Every year, the town of Bellegarde in Gard celebrates the October festival for 15 days.

A votive festival around Camargue traditions: abrivado, encierro, bandidos, bull releases, funfair, breakfasts in the meadow, Camargue races… Ask for the program:

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 16, 2024

• 8h30 : Children’s fishing competition and breakfast at the Guinguette du Pont de Broussan
  NB: For the fishing competition, registration directly on site. For breakfast, reservation at the restaurant La Guinguette de Broussan. Such. : 04 66 01 14 33. Open to children aged 3 to 12.
• 9h: Launch of the competition
• 11h : Competition prize giving
• 12h : Long Abrivado de la Guinguette with the LABOURAYRE manade.
  – Route outside urban areas : Broussan bridge, path through fields to Quai Paulin Talabot (marina) and crossing the RD38.
  – Urban route : Avenue Jean Monnet, rue d’Arles, rue de la République, rue de Beaucaire.
• 1 p.m. : Musical entertainment in the city bars
• 15h : Mini-As Trophy (10-14 years old) at the arenaswith the L’ETRIER manade. Free show.

FRIDAY OCTOBER 18, 2024

• 8:30 a.m.: Breakfast offered by Etablissements JEEM (Estève Agriculture), Comptoir Méditerranéen and Agence Astier. An opportunity to discover and taste local products from the exhibitors present. Meet at 8:30 a.m. at Ets ESTEVE, route de Jonquières. Open to all.
• 3 p.m.: Young bull race, final of the “The Hopes of the Madonna” Trophy at the Arena. Organized by the town of Bellegarde and the Bullfighting Club Le 5 Francs de Bellegarde. Entrée : 9 €
  With the Manades : RAMBIER CAVALLINI, CHANOINES, MOGADOR and LOU PANTAÏ.
• 6pm: Abrivado/bandit with the herds MAS DE ROM, TOMMY MAIRE and DU LEVANT.
  Course : rue de Beaucaire, rue de la République, rue de Saint-Gilles to rue Portalès
• 9 p.m.: Musical entertainment in the city bars

SATURDAY OCTOBER 19, 2024

• 8 a.m.: Breakfast at the Meadows of Barjac anime by Peña Los Caballeros
• 11:30 a.m.: Long Abrivado from Barjac with the AUBANEL herd
  – Route outside urban areas : 11 a.m. departure from the Bas Rhône canal at the edge of the town, then paths through fields to the Paulin Talabot quay (marina), crossing the RD38
  – Urban route : Avenue Jean Monnet, rue d’Arles, rue de la République, rue de Beaucaire.
• 3 p.m.: Camargue race in the Future category “Trophée de la Ville de Bellegarde” at the Arena. Organized by the city of Bellegarde and the Club Taurin La Jeunesse Bellegardaise. Entrée : 10 €
  With the Manades : DU JUGE, AUBANEL, DU ROUSTY, LAUTIER, MARTINI, LAYALLE and CAVALLINI

SUNDAY OCTOBER 20, 2024 – 2nd day of the abrivado competition

• 10:30 a.m.: Presentation of the herds of the abrivado competition in the rue de la République
• 11 a.m.: Briefing of 4 packs. With the AUBANEL, AGNEL, LABOURAYRE and VISTRENQUE herds.
  Course : Mas Nègre, then avenue de l’Abrivado, rue de Saint-Gilles, rue de la République, rue de Beaucaire.
  The first two classified herds will qualify for the final on October 27.
• 3 p.m.: Camargue race “1st day Revivre Trophy” at the Arena. Organized by the town of Bellegarde and the Club Taurin Lou Revivre.
  With the herds : DE MEJANES, BON, LOU PANTAÏ, LAURENT, AUBANEL and ROUSTY.

• 9 a.m.: Breakfast offered by coffee makers in the city center
• 10:30 a.m.: Presentation of the 4 finalist herdsclassified during the first 2 days in the rue de la République
• 11 a.m.: Final of the abrivado competition
  Course : Mas Nègre, avenue de l’abrivado, rue de Saint-Gilles, rue de la République and rue de Beaucaire
• 12:30 p.m.: Prize giving for the abrivado competition in the rue de l’Hôtel de Ville
• 1 p.m.: Musical entertainment in the city bars
• 3 p.m.: Camargue race “2nd day of the Revivre Trophy” at the arenas. Organized by the Lou Revivre bullfighting club and the town of Bellegarde.
