UA woman and two children, including a baby, were found dead in Ixelles on Saturday, following a deliberate act of violence that occurred the day before. A man was arrested, we know more about his profile.
According to information collected by our colleagues at HLN and the DHthe author, whose initials are JP, is a 54-year-old real estate agent. His wife reportedly ended their relationship.
The evening of the murder, he posted a video on Facebook: “The 3 most beautiful years of my life, thank you to my magnificent wife who gave me a wonderful daughter, N., to N. and A. I wish you everyone to know that one day!!!”, he wrote in the caption. In the video, he can be heard saying: “There, I just got back. It’s 10:30 p.m., a little past. Well I miss you. See you tomorrow. Or see you soon. Ciao”, before a montage of images of the children and his wife.
A macabre discovery
It was the local police called to intervene in a home on Avenue Jeanne who made the macabre discovery, confirmed Mayor Christos Doulkeridis, interviewed on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Brussels public prosecutor’s office, the Brussels-Ixelles police received a call on Saturday morning from a member of a family worried about not having had contact with one of their relatives for some time.
The police went to the scene, avenue Jeanne in Ixelles, and found a man in the home. After much insistence from the officers, the suspect agreed to open the door.
Still according to the prosecution, in the home, three deceased victims were found. It concerns a 40-year-old woman and two children, aged 13 and 1 year. The woman and youngest child appear to have died from gunshot wounds. The cause of death of the third victim is under investigation.
The 54-year-old man, found in the home, appears to be the victim’s partner. He was deprived of his liberty by the police.
The Brussels public prosecutor’s office was informed, and a judicial exclusion zone was set up. The laboratory of the federal judicial police, a ballistic expert and a forensic doctor were seized by the Brussels public prosecutor’s office.
An investigating judge was requested for murders. The investigating judge and the public prosecutor will visit the scene again on Saturday. According to the first elements of the investigation, the events took place Friday evening.
