The French Blood Establishment has teamed up with an Internet personality to bring as many people as possible to a huge blood donation drive, in order to beat the European record, from November 28 to December 1, 2024, at the Paris City Hall
Throughout the year, across the country,French Blood Establishment organizes blood donation drivesthe level of reserves having been particularly low in recent years. And yet, nothing is more important, because donating blood can save 3 lives. During this holiday season, Archangelwho became known on Twitterjoined forces with the EFS to encourage Ile-de-France residents to travel and donate blood, from November 28 to December 1, 2024in the heart of Paris City Hall.
Today, 10,000 donations are needed every day, including 1,700 in Île-de-France to treat patients waiting for a blood transfusion. To find out if you can donate, whether blood, plasma or platelets, don't forget to do the online testso as not to travel for nothing. Among other things, you must be between 18 and 70 years old, weigh more than 50kg, and be in good health.
For this exceptional event, 1000 donations per day are expected, either 4000 people in all, what perhaps break the European record ! For four days, many slots are open for reservation until the early evening, so that as many people as possible can attend. So that reserves do not drop, the level of sampling must remain regular, because the lifespan of blood products is limited: 7 days for platelets, 42 days for red blood cells.
A snack is offered on site to donors, after the collection which lasts seven to ten minutes but count about an hour for the entire duration of the donation.
