Since the start of the year, a new face has appeared at the Ourme tobacco press counter, rue Becquerel, in Saint-Brieuc (Côtes-d’Armor). Restaurateur for seventeen years, then business agent, Jean-Christophe Parnet took the plunge and bought the business. The idea of starting a business was already in my head, but I didn’t want to leave the region. I was in charge of the sale of tobacco products and, while going through the file, I said to myself that it was a great opportunity.
Supported by Crédit Mutuel de Bretagne de Saint-Brieuc and the Initiative Armor network, he therefore embarked on this new adventure. It’s funny actually, I remember that I came to buy my tobacco here when I was younger,”
he jokes.
A warm welcome
The ex-business agent was not mistaken, the Ourme tobacco press is operating at full capacity. In fact, the area is quite strategic.
We are at the junction of three districts: Ourme, Croix-Saint-Lambert and Beauvallon. It’s very dynamic!
But the icing on the cake, for Jean-Christophe Parnet, was the welcome he received: There is a large clientele of regulars who welcomed me warmly. There is a real neighborhood atmosphere. The same for the girls, who trained me well and supported me a lot.
He is referring here to Sylvie Le Provost, who ran the business for almost forty years, first with her husband, then alone; but also to Nathalie Dequercadec and Lætitia Belhague, employed for twenty and three years respectively.
What’s new: the Nickel account
If the Ourme tobacco press offers all the classic services, Jean-Christophe Parnet still wants to innovate a little. We are trying to develop “vaping”, it is the best way to stop smoking,
