It was upon arriving to resume the school week that the staff of the Rollinat school, in Villedieu-sur-Indre, noticed the damage to the establishment. One or more people entered the premises. “They broke the glass part of an entrance door”explains the mayor of the town, Xavier Elbaz.
But the perpetrator(s) of the break-in did not stop at the front door. A portion of glass between a classroom and a hallway was also broken, as were two interior doors that lead to offices.
Classes resumed in the morning
Faced with this damage, the gendarmerie was contacted. With the agreement of the academic inspectorate, the students remained in outdoor sports activities so that the gendarmerie could make initial findings and the premises could be cleaned.
“According to the first inventory drawn up in the morning, there was no stolen material”details Xavier Elbaz. The town hall took steps to declare a disaster and the mayor announced that he would file a complaint during the day.
Classes were able to resume at the end of the morning for all classes. According to our information, the perpetrator(s) of this damage were looking for cash.
