Why the parking is it limited to four hours in the rue de la Pointe-aux-Carreauxhas Maurecourt ().

And municipal decree in force since September 2 requires motorists to use a disc on this road located in a purple zone, from No. 1 to No. 2 bis, “considering that the public road domain cannot be used solely for parking extended and exclusive, and often abusivebut on the other hand there is reason to allow a rotation normal of vehicles”.

The decree is effective every day, except on Sundays and days holidaysbetween 9h et 12h (sic) and between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Otherwise, motorists risk being verbalized for “absence of a parking time control device”, i.e. a fine of 35 €.

Several residents and Internet users were surprised by this decision on the networks. “There are several reasons for this,” explains Anthony Deschampsdeputy mayor in charge of communication and mediation. “Firstly, it was a request from local residents, since the cars in the garage Peugeot were there continuously. We therefore drew up a staggered circulation pattern to reduce speed, then set a 4-hour limit,” confides the elected official.

Upcoming real estate project

“Peugeot is now gone, but a construction of 30 social housing units is planned on the land of the former printing works and local residents fear parking anarchy. Added to this are the people who leave their cars here to take the bus to go to the station,” explains Anthony Deschamps. “In short, there is no ideal solution, but since the limitation, there is no longer any parking. I proposed to the mayor, given the circumstances, to remove the 4-hour zone, so we are considering it,” concludes the deputy mayor.
