War in the Middle East – UK Foreign Office travel alert issued for Dubai, Egypt and Morocco

Britain’s Foreign Office has warned its nationals there is a “high threat” of a global terrorist attack as conflict in the Middle East intensifies.

Some airlines have canceled flights to and from Dubai.

The measure was issued just before Iran fired nearly 200 missiles toward Israel. Although there is currently no travel ban to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), British holidaymakers are advised to remain vigilant as “the situation is evolving rapidly”.

Emirates and Flydubai airlines have canceled some flights from Dubai to the UK, Oman and Kuwait, as well as to Iraq, Iran and Jordan. Flydubai announced on Friday morning the resumption of flights to Iran, Iraq, Israel and Jordan from today. Flights to Beirut remain suspended until October 7.

The Foreign Office’s advice site for people traveling to the UAE says: “There is a high threat of a global terrorist attack affecting UK interests and British nationals, including the share of groups and individuals who view the United Kingdom and British nationals as targets. Stay aware of your surroundings at all times. »
