On Saturday, more than 100 porters will take turns throughout the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department. The Olympic flame will pass through Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, Sisteron, Digne-les-Bains, Colmars-les-Alpes, Forcalquier, Barcelonnette and Manosque. Hours: Moustiers-Sainte-Marie: 9:00 a.m. to 9:20 a.m.; Sisteron: 9:25 a.m. 10:30 a.m.; Digne-les-Bains: 12:10 p.m. 1:25 p.m.; Colmars-les-Alpes: 1:35 p.m. 1:55 p.m.; Forcalquier: 4:30 p.m. 5:10 p.m.; Barcelonnette: 6:00 p.m. to 6:35 p.m.; Manosque: 6:45 p.m. 7:20 p.m. The times indicated are subject to change.

In order to ensure everyone’s safety and to allow as many people as possible to witness the passing of the flame in good conditions, security and traffic restriction measures will be applied. The traffic lanes will be closed to light vehicles (LV) at least 1h30 before the arrival of the convoy. The roads will be closed to heavy goods vehicles 4 hours before the arrival of the convoy.

Traffic will be restored as soon as safety conditions permit after the convoy has passed. A traffic plan (diversions and alternate routes) will be deployed in order to guarantee everyone’s mobility as much as possible during this exceptional day. Information concerning the flame and its route and the JOP2024 are available on the website of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence prefecture and on each of the sites of the municipalities concerned.

In order to prevent any serious disturbance to public order as well as public tranquility and health and in order to ensure the safety of people and property during the Olympic torch relay and the associated festivities, the Prefect of the Alps -de-Haute-Provence has taken several administrative police measures temporarily prohibiting: the carrying and transport of weapons and objects that could constitute a weapon; the purchase, sale, transport and use of fireworks, pyrotechnic articles, explosive products; the retail sale and transport of containers of fuel or any flammable products; the sale, transport and use of acid.

Temporary administrative police measures

Temporary ban on the territory of the seven municipalities hosting the Olympic torch relay on the carrying and transport of weapons and objects that could constitute a weapon.

On the territory of the municipalities of Barcelonnette, Colmars, Digne-les-Bains, Forcalquier, Manosque, Moustiers-Sainte-Marie and Sisteron, the carrying and transport of weapons of all categories, ammunition and of objects which may constitute a weapon by destination within the meaning of article 132-75 of the penal code: from 7:45 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. on the territory of the municipality of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie; from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the municipality of Sisteron; from 11 a.m. to 1:40 p.m. in the territory of the municipality of Digne-les-Bains; from 10:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. in the territory of the municipality of Colmars; from 3:30 p.m. to 5:25 p.m. in the territory of the municipality of Forcalquier; from 4:15 p.m. to 6:55 p.m. in the territory of the municipality of Barcelonnette; from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the territory of the commune of Manosque.

This temporary ban does not concern persons authorized to carry out their mission.

On Saturday May 11, 2024, in the territory of the municipalities of Barcelonnette, Colmars, Digne-les-Bains, Forcalquier, Manosque, Moustiers-Sainte-Marie and Sisteron, are prohibited on public roads, in public spaces or in the direction of public spaces and in places of large gatherings of people as well as in their immediate surroundings the possession and use of fireworks, whatever the category: from 7:45 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. on the territory of the municipality of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie; from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the municipality of Sisteron; from 11 a.m. to 1:40 p.m. in the territory of the municipality of Digne-les-Bains; from 10:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. in the territory of the municipality of Colmars from 3:30 p.m. to 5:25 p.m. in the territory of the municipality of Forcalquier; from 4:15 p.m. to 6:55 p.m. in the territory of the municipality of Barcelonnette: from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the territory of the municipality of Manosque.

This temporary ban does not concern pyrotechnic shows and two unclassified fireworks shows ordered by municipalities or persons of public law or event organizers duly declared to the town hall. Also prohibited on public roads, in public spaces or towards public spaces and in places of large gatherings of people as well as in their immediate surroundings are the sale, transport and use of acid in the same time slots.

Temporary ban in the department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence on the purchase and transport of any transportable fuel container as well as the sale and transport of category 2 and 3 fireworks From Friday May 10 at 8 p.m. until Saturday May 11; to 8 p.m., the following are prohibited: the purchase and transport of any transportable container of fuel and any flammable products; the sale and transport of category 2 and 3 fireworks.
