“The Morbihan department has around 800 organic farms”recalls Julien Bastide, project manager at the organic farmers group. In addition to his usual coordination work, he is responsible for organizing the 3e edition of Bouge ta ferme, a festive day, which takes place on Sunday October 6, 2024, in La Gacilly (Morbihan). The objective is to invite organic and local eating with the help of several partners including the French Hiking Federation, Morbihan Tourism, the Yves-Rocher group, the Departmental Council, etc.

Hiking and cycling in the morning

Activities will begin on Sunday morning at La Gacilly. Hiking, pedestrian or cycling routes will leave from the Arthémisia room. A 20 km cycle loop will start between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Hikers will set off for 4.5 km, 6 or 8 km. On the circuits, gourmet breaks are planned, with organic products offered by local producers in the sector. Mélina Le Blaye, public relations manager for the Yves-Rocher company, will offer a discovery at the biodiversity observatory on the wetland site, on the edge of the Aff. A second break will take place at the Yves-Rocher house, then another to discover the photo exhibition by Gorges Steinmetz, on food. A tasting will take place at the Grée-des-Landes eco hotel, where the concept of this establishment will then be detailed.

Afternoon on the farm

The second part of the day will take place in another town. In Saint-Nicolas-du-Tertre, participants will meet at the Joly Angus organic farm, run by Benjamin Joly, in the village of Le Bot. On this family farm, the young engineer by training raises 90 Scottish Aberdeen-Angus cattle, intended for consumption.

During the meal, served from 12 p.m., with farm beef mafé on the menu followed by hazelnut cream, the free entertainment will continue. On the program, presentation of the activities; carriage rides with the Vautoudan riders; stories with Paul Maisonneuve; discovery of biodiversity with the Saute rivières association, in Peillac; Bunge jump walk, with the hiking federation, and music with the Brume duo, their harp and Celtic violin.
