BMW Group is introducing its new agency model “The New Retail” in for sales of the MINI brand from October 1, 2024, as announced. This agency model started in the first half of 2024, in 5 countries: Italy, Poland, Sweden, Norway and Finland. After the successful launch in these five markets, France and other European markets are rolling out this new purchasing journey.

Jochen Goller, Member of the Board of Management of BMW Group, responsible for Brands and Sales says

: “The move to an agency sales model, with our network, is an important step in the reorganization of our sales. We are convinced that the future of sales in Europe lies in the agency model which will benefit both our customers, our business partners and the BMW Group.”

The BMW Group is now digitalizing the entire purchasing process. From launch, customers can choose between the purchasing experience in one of the 138 MINI stores in France and the digital experience on the MINI.fr website. They will be able to move from one to the other seamlessly, thanks to an end-to-end integrated IT system.

“In an increasingly digital environment, expectations regarding the purchasing journey are evolving. Across all industries, customers want to seamlessly transition from an online digital experience to a physical in-store experience. With this new model, we continue to improve our customer satisfaction and brand experience, while offering competitive pricing,” says Guillaume de Sazilly, Director of MINI France.

Indeed, price transparency is now guaranteed to customers, with single pricing for each MINI model in France.

“We consider personal contact with customers as an essential aspect of the service provided by our agents, in MINI Stores, who will continue to play a central role in sales. I would like to thank our partners and their teams for their constructive cooperation to achieve our common goal: the establishment of a future-oriented sales system” adds Vincent Salimon Chairman of the Management Board of BMW Group France.

The new sales model offers the network an attractive business model, which allows it to focus on advice, service and customer support.

Very significant investments have been made over several years, not only in the digitalization of the sales process and applications but also in the training provided to employees ahead of the launch, both within the BMW Group and in the French network.

With this major development in the sales model, the entire new MINI range and recent used cars are now sold through the agency model.
