In a decree, the prefect of Gironde banned the travel of ACA supporters to Bordeaux. The match is scheduled to be played this Friday, May 3, at the Stade Matmut-Atlantique. On the way out, in Timizzolu, the meeting was punctuated by incidents.

No Aceist supporter will be able to go, this Friday, May 3 at 8:45 p.m., to the Matmut-Atlantique stadium in Bordeaux. So decided the prefect of Gironde, Étienne Guyot, in a decree taken on April 25.

“From Thursday May 2, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. to Saturday May 4, 2024 at 8:00 a.m., any person claiming to be a supporter of AC Ajaccio or behaving as such is prohibited from accessing the Matmut-Atlantique stadium and ‘be present in the city center of Bordeaux or on public roads within the defined perimeter’, is it written in the prefectural document.

Last August, during the first leg played at the François-Coty stadium (now renamed Michel-Moretti), incidents broke out between supporters of the two camps.

While the Bordeaux fans had also been banned from traveling by the prefect of Corsica-du-Sud, several dozen of them entered the stadium and chanted songs. to the glory of their club, leading to scuffles with Corsican supporters.

Seats, a ladder and various projectiles had been thrown from the stand. The match was interrupted for almost an hour.

In the decree, the prefect of Gironde reports the incidents of last summer in Timizzolu and also mentions “the current conflict between the two main ultra groups of the Girondins de Bordeaux” in order to justify his decision, evoking “risk of serious disturbances to public order”.

Between supporters of the Girondins de Bordeaux and AC Ajaccio, the first disputes date back to April 2014, when incidents had already marred a disputed meeting at François-Coty. A time when both clubs were playing in Ligue 1.
