Unlike last time, tight end Travis Kelce got his moment on the microphone during the Kansas City Chiefs’ visit to the White House.
After winning the Super Bowl last year, Taylor Swift’s lover tried to grab the microphone. However, he was quickly “mastered” by quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Kelce only had time to say, “I’ve been waiting for this ever since.”

Friday, when the Chiefs came to celebrate their triumph in Super Bowl LVIII on February 24, it was President Joe Biden who asked Kelce to speak.
“My fellow Americans…I’ll be honest, President Biden, they told me I would be electrocuted [au pistolet à impulsion électrique] If I came here, then I would return to my place,” he simply said before returning to the line.
Last year, in an episode of the podcast “New Heights” that he hosts with his brother Jason, Travis Kelce explained what he wanted to do when he took the microphone at the White House.
“The president, on the podium, it’s emblematic, and the way he addresses the public – ‘to my fellow Americans’. That’s all I wanted to say, man,” the tight end revealed.
“Dude, I’m not going to lie, it was cool. Well done Travis, there’s nothing cooler than that!”, reacted Jason Kelce on his X account.
Visibly at ease in the company of the Chiefs, Joe Biden even allowed himself to try on a helmet from the NFL team.
The president also alluded to the fact that he liked the idea of winning back-to-back like the Chiefs have done in the last two years.
“Welcome back to the White House. Super Bowl LVIII Champions: Kansas City Chiefs. They are the first team in 20 years to win back-to-back. Winning twice in a row, I like that,” said the man who will try to defeat Donald Trump in a second consecutive election next November.
