The Moroccan Olympic team is training for the next Summer Olympic Games 2024, announced the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).

The Olympic Atlas Lions are fine-tuning their preparation for the Olympic Football Tournament scheduled for July 24 to August 9. In a press release published Tuesday on its official website, the FRMF announced that the team has started a three-day training course at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé. The opportunity to inform of the list of 25 players summoned for this purpose by coach Tarik Setioui.

A 100% local group

As this training takes place outside of the FIFA notes, we obviously note the absence of European expatriates, starting with captain Ez Abde, busy with Betis Sevilla in the final sprint at the end of the season. The group is therefore made up only of locals who possibly apply for a few places for the Olympics.

During their previous meeting, the Olympic Atlas Lions lost to the Ukrainian Espoirs team (1-0) on March 22 before redeeming themselves four days later by clearly dominating the Wales Espoirs ( 0-2). As a reminder, the Moroccans are placed in Group B of the Olympic tournament along with Argentina, Ukraine and the third in Asia. They will enter the fray against the Argentines on July 24, will challenge the Ukrainians on the 27th and will play the Asians on the third group day on the 30th.

Morocco dreams of being able to count for the Olympics on the
neo-international Brahim Diaz and Achraf Hakimi. Obviously provided that the Madrilenian and the Parisian are released by their respective clubs. Same for the goalkeeper Munir El Kajoui who are currently fighting to maintain their position with Al-Wehda (beaten 0-2 this Thursday by Al Hazem) in the Saudi Pro League.
