This Saturday, May 4, at the stroke of midnight, in a packed Marcillet room with more than 500 people, Clémentine Tristant savors the moment. The 20-year-old young woman, a BTS communication student, was elected Miss Champagne Ardenne. A few minutes after her coronation, she agreed to answer our questions.
How do you feel after your title of Miss Ardennes 2024?
I still don’t believe it, it’s a lot of emotions. I am very, very proud to be able to represent the Ardennes for a year and to try to win the crown of Miss Champagne-Ardenne. It’s been a while since she came to the Ardennes, we hope she will arrive this year. I spent my whole life here, from child to teenager before becoming a woman. This is my home, the Ardennes are home.
How was your day?
It was quite an overwhelming day with a bit of stress and joy. It was a mix of emotions but there was only good. I enjoyed myself 100% with the girls so as not to have any regrets. There was a crazy atmosphere, the girls gave everything, like the public. There was an atmosphere for everyone, which made the show even better.
What is your career plan ?
I am currently in BTS communications, I would later like to be able to open my own communications agency and why not expand internationally.
What awaits you now?
I’m going to rest a little bit, we’ve been going for three weeks and I admit that it’s a bit heavy. I’m going to enjoy with the girls, my runners-up and prepare for the Miss Champagne-Ardenne competition, the second stage of this journey.
Was this Miss Ardennes 2024 competition your first competition?
No, I participated in the Miss Champagne-Ardenne competition in 2022 where I came first runner-up. I wanted to try the adventure again.
What advice would you give to girls who would like to enter Miss pageants?
To keep it simple, not try to be another person and give your best. In any case, this adventure is not a failure. Even if we don’t win, we inevitably grow. I became a woman thanks to the Misses, I came back with another path and another objective. I really advise all girls who want to gain self-confidence to give it a try, it’s really just happiness.
How will you prepare for the regional Miss Champagne-Ardenne competition in Vieilles Forges which will take place on October 11?
I’m going to have to walk a lot in heels, I think I’m going to get quite a few blisters! But it doesn’t matter, we have the bandages. There will also be process courses and weekends with other elected officials from the departments, which I can’t wait to discover. I would also go to meet the people of Ardennes to thank them.
