A replica of Notre-Dame de Paris to discover in Arras until May 19

Until May 19 takes place there novena to Notre-Dame des Ardents in Arras. With this year, a special program, linked to the 90 years of the reconstruction of Arras Cathedral and the reopening of Notre-Dame de Parisof which you will see one replica !

This year, the novena to Notre-Dame des Ardents coincides with the 90th anniversary of the reconstruction of Arras Cathedral on May 13, 1934, partly destroyed in bombings in 1915.

A distinguished guest is planned: the replica of Notre-Dame de Paris on Pentecost weekend! Also with the arrival of the rector of Notre-Dame, Mgr Olivier Ribadeau Dumas.

Lights, conferences, new furniture

Among the highlights to note:

• Saturday May 11 at 6:30 p.m., mass with sacrament of the sick, Notre-Dame des Ardents church.
• Sunday May 12 at 3 and 4 p.m., catechistic visit to the cathedral; at 5 p.m., solemn vespers in the cathedral; at 6 p.m., solemn mass for the 90th anniversary of the reconstruction of the cathedral, presided over by Mgr Leborgne; at 10 p.m., inauguration of the interior illuminations of the cathedral (end at 11 p.m.).
• Tuesday May 14, at 8 p.m., evening at the St Jean-Baptiste presbytery with the Christian Life community (CVX) on “To build a spiritual being, what should I do? The example of St Ignatius of Loyola” with Sister Marchant.
• Thursday May 16 at 7 p.m., the consecration of the new liturgical furniture of the Saint Jean-Baptiste church.
• Monday May 13 at 3 p.m. at St-Paul church in Arras, discovery of the Christian-Muslim movement “Together, with Mary”.
• From May 11 to 18, nighttime discovery of the cathedral from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m., with interior illuminations.
• Friday May 17, at 6:30 p.m., mass at the cathedral, with Mgr Olivier Ribadeau Dumas, rector of Notre-Dame de Paris; at 8 p.m., he will give a conference at the cathedral “Rebuilding a truly Catholic cathedral, that is to say open to all: pastoral and spiritual issues”;
• Saturday May 18 at 9 p.m., candlelight mass in the St Jean Baptiste church. Pentecost vigil with imposition of hands. Then torchlight procession.
• Sunday May 19, Pentecost: at 10 a.m., meet at Place des Héros for the procession with Notre-Dame de Paris and Notre-Dame des Ardents. At 10:30 a.m., closing mass of the novena in Arras Cathedral, presided over by Mgr Leborgne. At 3 p.m., confirmations of 140 young people and adults.
