In 2022, at CameroonTHE Lions of Teranga of Senegal won for the first time in their history the African Cup of Nations of football. It is therefore natural that Sadio Mane and his teammates were announced as the big favorites of the CAN Ivory Coast 2023. After a masterfully controlled first round, Senegal lost in the round of 16 to Ivory Coast, the future winner of the competition.

After this disillusionment, there were many rumors about the future of Aliou Cissé at the head of the national team. Finally, the Senegalese football federation decided to extend coach Cissé. The former captain of the Teranga Lions is focused on the next objective of the national team, namely the CAN 2025 in Morocco. This Sunday, April 21, Aliou Cissé was the distinguished guest of an activity organized by the‘Academie Saint-Germain (PSG) Senegal.

Aliou Cissé spent a moment sharing with the residents of the Academy. Aliou Cissé was himself a player for Paris Saint-Germain and he looked back on his Parisian years. He notably affirmed that PSG helped to make him a great professional who sets big goals. In his usual frank manner, Aliou Cissé will tell academics that to succeed in football, you must be ready to make immense sacrifices.

The A’s coach took an example from him and how he had to fight to achieve his dream. Aliou Cissé was delighted that Paris Saint-Germain has established an academy in Senegal. The activity in which he participated this Sunday was organized in conjunction with the Senegalese transport service, YASSIR. “When PSG and YASSIR contacted me to spend an afternoon with their young footballers, I couldn’t refuse it. For what ? Because I love children firstly and then secondly, it’s my club, PSG. If people know Aliou Cissé, it’s through PSG, which is a very big club” will say Aliou Cissé.

He will add that the academy has a very good vision, because it offers other perspectives other than football to its young residents. “Even if they don’t become footballers, they can be accountants, lawyers…That’s all what Senegal needs. Not everyone will be Sadio Mané, Idrissa Gana Guèye. But what is important is that in this profession which is football, other professions are rushing into it and it is broad” notified coach Cissé.
