The fourth round of the French football cup is being played Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29. The nine Loiret clubs still involved in the competition, including Saint-Pryvé-Saint-Hilaire (National 2) which is making its debut at this stage, discovered their opponent this Wednesday, with the draw for the matches at the headquarters of the Ligue du Centre-Val de Loire. No big trip for the Saint-Pryvé-Saint-Hilaire players: they will go to Saran, a Regional 1 club.
But it was the little guy from Loiret, Deportivo Orléans, who hit the jackpot. The Orléans footballers, who play in the first departmental division (D1), will host Romorantin, a National 3 team, in other words four divisions apart. Malesherbois (R2) will also have a lot to do against Chartres (N3). Châteauneuf-sur-Loire (N3) on the other hand is the big favorite against Chitenay-Cellettes, a D1 club from Loir-et-Cher. In the duels between regional division teams, Ingré (R2) will go to Touraine to face St-Cyr-sur-Loire (R1), Saint-Jean-le-Blanc (R1) will host a club of the same level, Monnaie. And a Loiret derby will be played between Amilly (R1) and SMOC of St-Jean-de-Braye (R2).
