RHaving been in the blind spot of the electoral campaign for the legislative elections – partly because the agreements on the sixth state reform at the end of 2011 had defused the community conflict, and partly because the party representing the French-speaking cause, Défi, had its mind elsewhere – the municipalities with facilities are making headlines again. The governor of Flemish Brabant, Jan Spooren (N-VA), sent the summons for the municipal and provincial elections to the inhabitants of Crainhem, all in… Dutch alstublieft, please translate. On Facebook, Véronique Caprasse, an Amaranth alderman (she will not be re-elected) is outraged: “The guardianship continues to deny the law and the decisions of the Council of State! Unacceptable!” She confirms to us: “And it will be like that in the other municipalities with facilities. But it is a municipal prerogative, so the summons, the real ones, will follow.” “The Flemish governor will not let this happen. The carousel is starting up again. Of course, it doesn’t amuse anyone, but above all it doesn’t move many people anymore.
