A teacher working at the Paris Saint-Germain training center will be tried on January 31 by the Versailles criminal court (Yvelines) for corruption of minors over 15 years old, we learned on Wednesday from the public prosecutor.
The 27-year-old man was taken into custody on Monday as part of a preliminary investigation opened for sexual assault and corruption of a minor, according to a police source. He was “brought before the court and prosecuted by summons on a report with placement under judicial supervision,” the Versailles prosecutor’s office said.
A source close to the case indicates that the teacher was “part-time” and “intervened occasionally” at the PSG training center, without specifying the subject taught.
Six teenagers have been identified as victims, the police source continued. According to their statements to investigators, the teacher tried to put his hand in the tracksuit of one of them, and asked another to send an intimate video with his girlfriend.
Only one complaint was filed, the same source said, adding that reports had already been made against this teacher by high schools in Seine-Saint-Denis in 2021. At the time, he had contacted students on social networks and made sexual propositions to them, the source explained.
“As soon as it was informed, the club immediately took all necessary measures. The part-time professor was suspended and the competent authorities were alerted without delay, immediately taking charge of the case,” PSG responded in a statement. “Protecting the integrity of athletes has always been and remains an absolute priority for Paris Saint-Germain,” the club added.
