Francophonie Festival: celebrates the French language to transform the world

Today, the Francophonie is a common culture which unites 321 million people distributed across the 5 continents. An unbreakable bond honored at beginning of October in the heart of , as part of the 19th Summit of the Francophonie. For 5 days, the Francophonie Festival offers you a spotlight on this space for sharing, creativity, dialoguewith a very specific goal in mind, that of promoting this common force to use it wisely, and thus Remaking the world.

Lover of French poetrya connoisseur of regional accents, or just curious passing byeveryone is welcome for this unique event in the heart of the capital. For 5 days, Lyrical Gaiety has a busy schedule in store for you to showcase all the riches of the French-speaking world. On the one hand, enjoy the exhibition What brings us together: languages, language and imaginationto discover the work ofartists from all over the world who, each in their own way, question our report to the French language.

On the other, discover all the subtleties and uses of this wonderful language what is French, thanks to a huge French-speaking bookstorebringing together more than 5000 bookssome of which have not never been presented in . The opportunity to stock up on nuggets before winter, but also to meet and exchange with authors, booksellers and publishers from all over the world, like Marguerite Abouet, Barbara Cassin or even Marcelino Truong. And for those who would like to enjoy all these works, no worries, this festival is not like the others offers cultural practice workshops: French-speaking travel diary, fun grammar, humor, slam, writing, eloquence…!

To top it all off, you will have the opportunity every day to participate in conferences on various themes (media education and the fight against disinformation, youth engagement or the links between the French-speaking world and urban planning). Daily screenings will be the ideal opportunity to discover the latest creations in the field of the 7th artthanks to a rich and varied program (to be discovered in its entirety right here). The icing on the cake, comedy shows (Alex Vizoreket, Paul Taylor, or the association Les Hauts de l’Humour) of poetryor even storytelling accessible to the youngest, as well as concerts are waiting for you, to applaud Pierre de Maere, Angelique Kidjo or even Ronisia.

If the Gaîté Lyrique becomes the time of the festival the “headquarters” of Remaking the worldthe rest of the capital doesn’t let itself be walked all over either, offering you various other attachment points. So, the CENTQUATRE – PARIS is not left behind either, and is transformed from October 2nd to 6th in real life Village of the Francophonie. A place for exchanges and cultural discoveries, which invites you in particular to experience an immersive experience around the French language. A place outside of time, which illustrates cultural diversity and richness which constitute the pillars of French-speaking territories across the world.

Around these two major events, the entire capital is mobilizing, since activities will also be presented at there Concierge service (from October 4 to January 5), at the Institute of France (October 5) or even at the National Library of France (October 7 and 11). Finally, the STATION Fin the 13th, welcomes FrancoTechTHE economic and technological component of this 19th Summit of the Francophonie. The October 3 and 4this is the unmissable event to discover all technical innovations that we owe to the French-speaking world
