Three months of major works announced on this very busy railway line in Gard

Since Sunday, September 15 and until Monday, December 16, 2024the daily circulation of regional trains between Nimes and Grau-du-Roi (Gard) may be an obstacle course. The SNCF has confirmed that major works will take place there.

Modernization more than necessary

Determined to improve the quality of the railway network, which is often criticized in the north of the former Languedoc-Roussillon, the railway company has announced that this vast project will take place in several successive periods.

A week of preparatory work is announced from Sunday 15 to Monday 23 September 2024.

No trains at the end of October!

The company has released a very precise schedule of the work announced in the north of Languedoc-Roussillon.

• From Monday September 23 to Monday October 21 and from Saturday November 2 to Friday November 29: interruption of traffic between Vauvert and Grau-du-Roi in both directions,
• From Tuesday 22 to Thursday 31 October: closure of traffic in both directions, on the entire railway line.
• THE 22 level crossings will be closed until December 16. Road diversions are planned.

Replacement buses announced

Of many trains could see their usual schedules, be temporarily deleted in this sector of Occitania.

Replacement buses will be in place until the end of the work, at the times of the cancelled trains.

The SNCF therefore invites all travelers to inquire online before going to the train platforms. Otherwise, in some cases, the wait could be interminable…
