2024 in the rearview mirror, it is now 2025 which begins. Traditional events such as the fair or the MusicaSens open-air music festival will once again brighten up the town of Brennus. But the municipality is adding other activities this year, particularly as part of the “Sens givré” operation. Here are the main events that await the public in the next twelve months.
From January 23 to 25, jazz festival. “Renowned artists” are announced to celebrate the 20th anniversary at the theater: Belmondo Dead Jazz, Flash Pig and Sophie Alour.
January 31, epic concert (new). At the Saint-Pregts church, baroque music will be in the spotlight to collect donations to save the Saint-Jean chapel.
February 8, Volunteer Day (new). At the association center, on the sidelines of its inauguration, the associative spirit and the commitment of volunteers will be celebrated.
A month of gastronomy
February 14, Valentine’s Day night market (new). From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., under the covered market, a romantic evening is planned, including a champagne bar and a live concert.
From February 25 to March 7, Grandparents Festival. For this second edition, during the school holidays, activities will be offered by the City of Sens: workshops, lottery, board games, reading, etc.
In March, “Sense at the table”. Gastronomy month returns with two innovations on March 1: the waiter race and a gourmet night market under the covered market.
March 12, Mario Kart tournament (new). At the Champs-Plaisants library and the media library, this competition of the famous video game will qualify for the departmental level.
March 15, carnival (new). Starting from Rue de la République, a big parade is announced. The public will be invited to dress up and join the party.
From March 26 to 29, storytelling week (new). At the theater, the media library and the Champs-Plaisants library, this literary genre will be highlighted.
April 11 and 12, SaYonne’Ara. The festival dedicated to Japanese culture returns under the canopy, Place des Héros.
From April 18 to 21, the TSF. At the René-Binet sports complex, the borderless tournament, reserved for footballers under 14, is making a return.
From April 30 to May 4, Sens fair. Created in 1922 by Lucien Cornet, the fair, the most important popular event of the year, will once again be offered in the city center.
In June, July and August, “The palace has its festival”. In addition to the Synodals (festival and choreographic competition) and the classic nocturnal events, La Fresque will be added, a participatory historical show in collaboration with the Atrum association.
July 4 and 5, MusicaSens. The popular and free outdoor music festival returns to Sens. The artists who will perform there are not yet known.
July and August, aperitif concerts at the Moulin à tan. This pleasant meeting in the largest wooded park in Sens is renewed.
August 31, Saint-Fiacre Day. The 52nd Saint-Fiacre de Sens will be offered on Sunday, in a configuration which may change.
October, “Sens urban fest”. The 2nd edition of the urban culture festival is announced.
In November, Sense of Humor festival. The 9th edition of the festival is already planned, without a precise date being given yet.
From December 5 to 7, Christmas market. An unmissable event at the end of the year, the Christmas market will once again be a magical moment for the Senonais.
