In February 2024, the Sonerian bagad Bro Dreger was displayed on the illuminated panels of Times Square, in New York. “What started as a joke between friends – see the Sonerien bagad Bro Dreger in New York – will come true for real since we will take part in the famous St. Patrick’s Day parade, in March 2025, on 5th Avenue , after a formal invitation received in May,” recalls Lénaïck Le Jannou, president of Bagad.
A budget of around €80,000

As a reminder, traveling members of the bagad to New York (six days and five nights) required a budget of around €80,000. If all the musicians who will fly to New York in mid-March put their hands in their pockets, the support of individuals, communities and businesses is essential to make this budget possible. “Between plane tickets, accommodation, catering and transport of equipment, this represents a significant budget that our association alone could not have covered. For almost a year, we have received tremendous support and we are very proud to promote Perros-Guirec, the Côte de Granit Rose and the Trégor on 5th avenue. » The Bagad Sonerien Bro Dreger will not be the only one to tread the famous avenue during the parade since the Perros-Louannec Sports Union has been organizing, since October, a stay in New York to support the bagad.
Musical entertainment Saturday in Lannion
