If there is a musical group that stands out for its originality, it is the Debussy quartet. In artistic residency at Inspe Lyon (National Higher Institute of Teaching and Education) in the heart of the Croix-Rousse district, he multiplies ambitious projects and defends more than anything the demanding vision of open classical music , lively and creative.
Indeed, in addition to the recording of Dimitri Shostakovich’s fifteen quartets, the Debussy Quartet regularly enriches its repertoire, particularly in French music and through its explorations and artistic encounters. He has particularly stood out during collaborations in contemporary music (Yael Naim, Keren Ann) and several times in the jazz world alongside renowned artists (Franck Tortiller, Jean-Philippe Collard-Neven, etc.).
Understanding the world of bowed strings
In order to demonstrate his desire to place his action locally, for several years he has been organizing workshops for residents in order to introduce the art of the string quartet to as many people as possible. After the success of the first workshop in December 2024, he is preparing two free concerts on February 3 which should allow all the curious to come and meet “the most Lyonnais of international quartets”.
A unique opportunity to dive into the world of bowed strings, to share a musical moment that is out of the ordinary.
Free concerts, Monday February 3 at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Galerie de l’Inspe, 5 Rue Anselme, Lyon 4e. Reservations with the Debussy Quartet: [email protected] or 04.72.48.04.65.
