Last September, the film crew of the France Télévisions series, Meurtres à… chose the setting of Honfleur to set the plot of this new part and entrusted the production to Christelle Raynal.
A Honfleur legend to discover
The episode begins with the discovery of the body of deputy Jean-Charles Villiers, in the port, wrapped in a plastic cover and covered with coarse salt and sand. This macabre scene evokes the Harlequin legendoriginally from the 17th century in Honfleur.
The investigation is led by Captain Justine Leroy, played by Hélène Seuzaretassisted by her assistant Vianney, played by Mouloud Turki. They are joined by Paul Mesnil, a former great retired cop and now owner of a restaurant on the heights of Honfleur, played by Bernard Farcy.
A very popular series
The series broadcast on France 3 has enjoyed notable success since its launch. Each independent episode features a criminal investigation taking place in a different French region, highlighting local heritage.
The audiences bear witness to this enthusiasm. For example, “Murders in Chantilly” attracted 5.1 million viewers, or 27.6% audience share, while “Murders in Font-Romeu” captivated 21.5% of the public.
In addition, “Murders in Château-Thierry” attracted 4.6 million viewers during its broadcast.
These regular performances often place France 3 at the top of the audiences when the series is broadcast, confirming its status as the channel’s flagship program.
